Daystar Kicks Off Beta Program for Time Tek™ Customer Service Scheduling System

Web-based scheduling system now available for beta testing by qualified service companies

PORTSMOUTH, NH – April 15, 2002 – Daystar Computer Services, a partner-based technology company and developer of the Time Tek scheduling system, today announced the program’s availability for beta testing by qualified service companies.

Time Tek is a web-based software tool that lets service teams efficiently manage work schedules and quickly respond to customer requests for service from any location that has Internet access. Time Tek removes the inefficiencies of managing schedules with appointment books or other paper-based systems, while providing all of the benefits of electronic data management and secure Internet technology.

Throughout the beta phase, participating companies will test the program by replacing existing computer- or paper-based scheduling systems, or in conjunction with any computerized program that contains customer information. Constructive feedback and feature requests may be submitted to Daystar directly from each company’s secure scheduler.

An “alpha” – or early version – of Time Tek was released in January of this year. “We’re very excited about the great – and immediate – response to Time Tek that we’ve had from service companies all over the region,” said Keith Bamford, Daystar’s CEO. “From day one we have developed this program according to the needs of the people who will be scheduling customer service calls day in and day out. Technology Platform
Time Tek resides on state-of-the-art, fault-tolerant servers running on the Microsoft platform. The servers are housed in a secure collocation facility with security protection, fire protection, redundant T3 connections from multiple vendors, and electrical redundancy protection. In addition Time Tek combines SSL encryption, user authentication for server access, and password restrictions to ensure the privacy of company work schedules and the security of customer information.

Daystar is committed to providing quarterly updates that will add at least two significant new features to Time Tek’s functionality. All Time Tek users have the opportunity to provide feedback on desired features and influence the actual development of the system, directly from their customized scheduler.

Pricing and Availability
Time Tek is available immediately to companies that have dedicated Internet access. The monthly pricing structure for Time Tek is based on the number of Technicians for which a company schedules service calls. There are no additional connection charges or support fees.
