How does Time Tek work?
Time Tek is a flexible and easy-to-use web-based application service that runs on Microsoft Internet Explorer. The program resides on secure web servers owned by Daystar Computer Services. (See “How secure is my schedule?” below). Companies subscribe to the service on a monthly basis, with the monthly cost based on the number of users on the system. There are no additional connection charges or support fees.

One key person within each customer company is designated as the Time Tek Administrator. The Administrator has full access rights to company information, plus is responsible for determining and assigning rights for appropriate company users.

The calendar works like a paper-based calendar. Company-wide daily, weekly or monthly schedules may be viewed at a glance, either from the main calendar, the daily calendar, or a color-coded chart. Meetings, appointments and reminders may be scheduled directly online as private or public events.

The contact manager works in the same manner. Individual users may store their contact lists as either public or private, thereby eliminating duplication, redundancy and incorrect information.

The service scheduler is a more specific type of calendar system, with settings and views designed to meet the specific needs of a dispatch or service company. For example, work orders may be generated and accessed directly from the main calendar, and reports are structured to allow service managers to analyze various metrics specific to work performed.

For both systems, all information is fully defined by individual companies. Options such as user access, system preferences, and personal views are also determined by individual companies and/or users.

What do I need to use Time Tek?
All users should have the ability to connect to the Internet and use Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.0 or higher. No additional software or hardware is required. For companies who at any time have special requirements, a Time Tek consultant is always available to discuss options and services.

How secure is my schedule?
Time Tek resides on state-of-the-art, fault-tolerant servers running on the Microsoft platform. The servers are housed in a secure collocation facility with security protection, fire protection, redundant T3 connections from multiple vendors, and electrical redundancy protection.

Time Tek combines 128-bit login authentication with password restrictions for server access to ensure the privacy of company work schedules and the security of customer information. Access controls are also in place for users who wish to log into their scheduler from remote locations.

Companies may enter as little or as much data as they want while being ensured full control of user access rights.

What if I lose my Internet connection?
The Time Tek Offline Viewer ensures 24 hour access to your important data. This free application provides your staff with continuous access to important schedules and records during situations that preclude Internet availability.

The Offline Viewer may be installed on as many local computers as you choose, including home computers and laptops. Users simply pre-set the program to take a “snapshot” of their information at any interval - every week, day, or even every hour.

Can I customize my Time Tek application?
There is plenty of opportunity for customization on the following Time Tek screens:

• Login page
• Application launch page
• Banner (all screens within the application)
• Work orders

Companies are simply asked to provide an electronic image of their logo and the Time Tek development team takes care of the rest.

Time Tek may also be configured to run from a personalized URL (such as a company's existing web site address) for an additional set-up fee. Further customizable services are also available.
